IGRUA Commercial Pilot Entrance Exam

IGRUA offers Ab-initio to CPL Course for issue of CPL with Multi–engine endorsement and Instrument Rating (IR) on Multi-engine Aircraft.

IGRUA Exam Pattern

1- There are five sections in the exam which a student is required to answer. All sections are compulsory.

2- The five sections in the exam are –

  • English
  • Physics
  • Mathematics
  • General Awareness
  • Reasoning

3- All sections have equal weightage in the exam.

4- There are objective type questions in the exam.

5- The total duration of the exam is 2 hours.

6- There is no negative marking in the exam.

7- The questions are usually based on class 12th standard

8- Those students who qualify the written exam are called for interview. Further, those candidates who clear their interview are finally required to take up the pilot aptitude test. Those candidates who pass through this stage also are declared finally selected in the exam.

Total Seats: 75 (General – 38, SC – 11, ST – 6 and OBC – 20)

Duration: 18 months (may get extended)

Age Limit: 17 years at the time of joining

Training fee:

  • Rs. 38 Lacs (Pending approval for revision to Rs.40 lacs) payable in four quarterly installments in one year
  • Additional expenditure for about Rs. 1.50 Lac towards cost of Uniform, Study Material, Navigation Computer, Head Phones etc
  • The training fee and other expenditure is same for all category candidates

Eligibility Criteria

For General Candidates

  • Passed English at 10+2 level with ii) Minimum 55% Aggregate Marks in Maths & Physics

For SC/ST/OBC Candidates

  • Passed English at 10+2 level with ii) Minimum 50% Aggregate Marks in Maths & Physics

Note:

  • In case SC/ST and OBC candidates do not qualify even after 5% relaxation in the Entrance Written test, the seats would be de-reserved for General Category
  • Candidates can also opt for B.Sc. (Aviation) Degree from Chatrapati Sahu Ji Maharaj University Kanpur, being conducted simultaneously with CPL Course. Duration of this course will be 03 years

Selection Procedure

Online Written Test, Viva/Interview and Pilot Aptitude Test in the following manner:

  • Written Test:  At allotted centres on 12th May 2018 (Saturday)
    • Exam Centers: Please check Options for centres. Option for three centers is to be made giving first, second and third choice. IGRUA reserves the right to cancel any Center if numbers of Applicants for the Center are inadequate
    • Syllabus for Written Test: General English, Maths, Physics, Reasoning & Current Affairs (10+2 level objective type questions only and no negative marking)
    • Qualifying Marks in Written Test: The cutoff marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates will be 5% less from the cut off marks secured by the last candidate in the General category
  • Interview/Viva: All short listed Candidates will be required to produce following documents in original as well as one photocopy of each document at the time of interview:
    • Proof of Date of Birth (such as 10th Class certificate)
    • 10th Mark sheet
    • 10+2 Mark sheet
    • Caste Certificate for SC/ST/OBC Candidates
    • A Certificate from the competent Authority that the OBC Candidate does not belong to Creamy layer
  • c) Pilot Aptitude Test/Psychometric Test
    • Only successful candidates in Pilot Aptitude/Psychometric Test shall qualify for final selection
    • No relaxation criteria will be applicable for SC/ST/OBC Candidates in Pilot Aptitude/Psychometric Test
